In addition, the more I work with the app, the more I admire its budgeting and reports: thorough and clear, preferable to others I've bought. Later the hangs became infrequent or (I hope) stopped. Also, Support email (which I later found) responded in a few hours. It it in fact possible to find an escape from the sync hang via the Support page.
